Tomahawk tourism project axed

Another development company has withdrawn plans for a multi-million-dollar tourism project in Tasmania's north-east.
A Queensland development company, FKP, had planned to build a $90 million tourism project at Tomahawk on the north-east coast.
The company had submitted a planning permit application to the Dorset Council but has now withdrawn the documents.
FKP has blamed the global economic crisis for its decision to abandon the 100-unit resort project.
It follows a decision by another company, Spencer Morgan, to put its plans for a $180 million resort at Musselroe Bay up for sale.
The future of that development, including a 100-room hotel, 320 accommodation units and world-class golf course, is now in doubt.
