Taxi fares in Victoria are set to rise by six per cent.
The cost of booking a taxi on Christmas Day and New Years Eve will also jump, from $1.40 to $2.00.
The Government says the price rises are designed to make driving cabs more profitable, and encourage drivers to work on public holidays.
An extra 200 taxi licences will also be issued.
